Over recent years Warwickshire has seen more and more bowls coaches become qualified. Good quality coaching plays a vital role in the long term development of bowls whilst raising the profile of the game in the sporting world.

Warwickshire still needs more coaches. Coach Bowls is the only nationally recognised coaching qualification for the sport of bowls in England. It uses the UK Coaching Framework as a guideline for development, and its stated aim is to provide ‘a world class bowls coaching system for all’.

Coach Bowls provides a range of courses to support Coaches, Clubs, and County Associations both online and face/face. Below is a brief description of the coaching Pathway available.

The Coach Bowls Membership Scheme provides Insurance, support and benefits to all levels of coaching whatever code you coach.

Level 1
This course comprises of 2 online modules followed by a full day practical training on the green, completion of a portfolio of evidenced and culminating in a final practical assessment.

Level 2
This course comprises of 3 modules followed by 2 full days of practical training on the green, completion of a portfolio of evidenced and culminating in a final practical assessment.

New Supporting Inclusion Module – including a taster day with bowlers with a disability

This 4 hour module is made up 2 hour online & 2 hour practical, been designed for all club volunteers, whether coaches or club helpers / committee members and includes both practical and online theory aspects to working with bowlers who may have the need for additional support when taking part in club activities.
